Five Detrimental Beliefs
By Ela Mukosiej⎪May 26, 2024
In the early stages of my spiritual awakening, I dismissed the fact that my thoughts mattered. My mind was filled with positive and negative fantasies without any regard for their creative power. Until one day in my third year of high school, when my silly dream of having a cell phone (Siemens S35i) came true, I finally made a connection. It was an Eureka moment that completely shifted my perspective on the inner dialogue and life in general. Since then, I’ve been trying to master my Moment-to-Moment Awareness knowing that there are no idle thoughts and this is where a real choice takes place.
A belief is simply a thought you’ve been thinking and continue to think, albeit unconsciously. We all are guilty of being sure that what we believe in is true, which is not always the case. In fact, taking our heavy indoctrination, it almost never is. The Truth is absolute and is not defined by perspectives. However, it’s the change in perception that will lead you to the Truth about and around you.
So, don’t be rigid in your thinking. Allow some space for contemplation. There are plenty of erroneous and detrimental beliefs held by the Collective Human Mind and, most likely, you as an individual, but the following five are fundamental to the fabric of our society. Each one is an extensive topic of its own and I’m only providing you with a hint to follow, should you feel inclined to learn more.
Detrimental Belief #1 says: You are your body.
“Are you nuts, Ela? Of course, I am my body. It’s the tangible proof I exist,” you might say. However, the body is nothing else but a vessel for You. We all say: “my body, my hand, my eyes” as an involuntary admission that it is not the essence of who we are.
Your tangible body is a collection of about 36 trillion cells that, depending on their function, create separate organs and elements, such as liver, skin, nails, gray matter, retina, and so forth. On top of that, when you examine the quantum level of our physicality, it is a bunch of atoms, which in themselves are a 99.999% empty space.
The truth is that You are not your body at all. You are an individuated point of Consciousness that exists with or without your biological vessel, avatar, or (as some call it) meat-suit. And you get a glimpse of that each night you dream.
The belief in You as a body is detrimental to your spiritual growth. It creates limitations by bonding you to this material plane, and feeds the fear of death and connection to God (your natural home).
Detrimental Belief #2 says: You are separate from others.
Logically, the belief in a body makes the belief in separation legitimate. However, when you correct the idea that you are not the biological vehicle, but an Eternal Spirit temporarily embodying a physical form, you will know that there’s only Unity and that other people are simply your Other Selves with a unique expression of the One.
Probably the best metaphor to explain the Oneness concept is to think of a Sun and its never ending rays of light. You are the Light shining as an individual beam that is a very part of the whole. It is impossible for you to detach yourself from the Source, no matter how strongly you believe in the illusion of separation.
To live your life with a belief that You are separated from others hinders your awakening to your full potential and keeps your heart closed to Love, which is the highest expression of the Self. You are Love and Love is the only Reality there is, everything else is an illusion.
Detrimental Belief #3 says: Events are random.
We all blame others for bigger or smaller things that happen in our lives or around us. It makes us feel better. We rarely look in the mirror and say: “How did I contribute to this situation?” Because if you’re experiencing it or if it’s in your vicinity, you better be sure that your mind somehow made it possible. There are no exceptions to this as it is the Law.
All manifestation is a reflection of your inner mind, albeit encrypted and convoluted. There’s nothing outside of you and you are not a victim of the world around you. You are merely uneducated (on purpose) about the Creation Process and your nature, but that’s about to change.
Detrimental Belief #4 says: New technologies will fix our problems.
Not to discredit or dismiss the need and importance of new technologies - far from it - but it is like putting the cart before the horse. The solution to our problems lies in the Psyche, not in the physical manifestation. Because the Manifestation is the final product of the Mind. It is never the other way around.
There’s Tesla free energy - suppressed, there’s cure for cancer -suppressed, there’s even a car that runs on water - also suppressed, but not really because those who profit from the current finite system put a lid on anything that threatens their existence, but because the humanity as a whole isn’t mentally and spiritually ready for such innovations.
As a collective family, we carry a chronic belief in scarcity and saviors due to the social conditioning that prosperity isn’t easily attainable and solutions always rest in the hands of others: billionaires, politicians, and religious figures, or in other words, those who in some way are ‘above us.’ Which brings me to my last point.
Detrimental Belief #5 says: Authority is moral and necessary.
I wrote on this subject numerous times, but repetition is unavoidable and, as a matter of fact, required. The belief in an external authority (one person or a group of people aka government) having a legitimate claim to rule over the lives of others is the ultimate irony in today’s society. If you stop 10 random people on the streets and ask them if the government is necessary to uphold freedoms, a vast majority (if not all) would answer “yes.”
Such a belief is immoral and dangerous as it ultimately supports the existence of slavery. True Freedom spreads its roots in the principles of self-governance and objective morality. Tyranny, on the other hand, relies on hierarchy and arbitrary power, which is given to the elites by the ignorant population that believes in saviors and never in themselves. The victim and the perpetrator are always a perfect vibrational match, without exception.
Summary
Beliefs are crucial in the process of creation and, if you want to improve your little corner and the world at large, you need to start with those preconceived ideas that unbeknownst to you cause harm and hinder you and the whole of humanity from true progress and Freedom.
If we do not know Who We Are, we’re without Purpose. If we think we are separate, we’ll continue justifying wars and division. If we have no clue how our experiences and events in this world come to past, we’ll perpetuate the blame/victim mentality and lack of responsibility for our [mental] choices. If we don’t understand those principles then we’ll keep looking for saviors and solutions in all the wrong places and never be truly free.
The right and the only place we can find the solution to our current condition of covert slavery is in the mirror. So, look into one today and ask yourself: “How do my beliefs, thoughts, and decisions contribute to the world around me?” And don’t be fooled as they absolutely do.
